Community Kitchen

As part of the One Planet Food Project we are building a second straw bale building at the farm. This will house our Community Kitchen allowing us to run  a wide range of cooking and food related activities. Once again the building is being constructed by students studying construction at South Devon College. The building features:

  • stone and re-used car tyre foundations
  • timber frame
  • straw bale walls
  • timber roof
  • specialist Changing Place disabled toilet
  • community kitchen
  • eduation office
The building is being built during this winter (2009/10) and we hope to open it by June 2010.

You can watch a video about how we built our straw bale education centre below.
