FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the farm and nature trail suitable for disabled access?

Yes.  Most of the land is flat, although ground may be uneven in parts due to the nature of the site.  There is a slight downwards hill through the orchard to the nature trail, but the trail itself is relatively flat and made up of boardwalk and rolled stone pathways.

Where can I park?
There are two car parks at Occombe.  As you approach Occombe from the ring road, the farmyard car park is the first left, and the main car park is the second left.  You are welcome to use either.  The farmyard car park is level with the farm shop, farm and nature trail, whilst the main car park is level with the cafe and education centre (as the main building is built into a bank).  Both car parks are free of charge.

Where is the disabled parking?
We have a number of designated disabled bays in our main car park, although if you are visiting the farm shop in particular you will find the farmyard car park more convenient.

Can I reach Occombe Farm by public transport?
Yes - the 60 & 61 buses run from Torquay and Paignton to Occombe Monday - Saturday.  For full timetable information please see http://www.dialabus.info/

Are dogs allowed at Occombe?
Unfortunately not - only assistance dogs are allowed at Occombe as it is a working farm.

Can I book for lunch?
Yes - please call us on 01803 520022 and select to be put through to the cafe.  Booking isn't essential and you are welcome to turn up on the day.  We recommend booking for Sunday lunch.

How can I book onto Occombe Farm events?
All events are booked centrally through the main office at Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust.  Please call the Trust on 01803 606035 - the office is open during normal office hours but if you leave a message they will get back to you.

How much is entry to Occombe Farm?
There is no charge for visiting Occombe.  However, if you have enjoyed your visit and would like to make a contribution to the work of Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust, there is a donation box at the entrance to the orchard and donation tins at each of the tills in the Farm Shop.
The Trust is a registered charity (no. 1077561)
