Dragon's Quest comes to Occombe Farm!
14th April 2009
We ran an exciting new event at Occombe this Easter weekend - a Dragon's Quest around our nature trail, which over 850 children took part in.
Families followed clues around the trail, collecting a secret password and leading them to a Dragon's Lair. Here they met a dragon and a wizard, who they must tell the password to in order to collect a prescious marble. Then they had the task of guarding the marble back to the Farm Shop to exchange it for - the best part - a chocolate prize!
The dragon was the star attraction - created using 2,000 recycled cans, it measured almost 4 metres nose to tail. The magnificent sculpture was made as part of a project by South Devon College students Alistair Pethick and Ryan Berry, who are studying undergraduate degree courses in Furniture Design and Illustration & Photography.
